Bio | 1. I attend the Outreach Restoration Branch where I am on the Ways and Means Committee and assist in friendly visiting.
2. I attended Graceland College from 1963-1965.
3. I graduated from the Jennie Lund School of Practical Nursing in 1968. I was treasurer of my class and first president of our Nursing Alumni. I worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in hospitals, nursing homes and the greatest challenge was working in the field of corrections at the Municipal and Jackson County Jails for 5 years. I was the nurse on duty during the jail riot at Municipal Corrections a few years ago. That was a great experience and one I don't care to repeat. A once in a lifetime experience.
4. I love being a Grandma to my 6 grandchildren.
5. I am active in church work.
6. I took my first trip to Arizona in October 2002 to visit my oldest sister.
7. My mother will be 94 years old in November (2003) and is a resident at the Rosewood health center at the Groves.
8. One of my nephews is a Master Chief in the Navy and will retire next year after 30 years of service to his country. His oldest daughter just completed Navy boot camp at Great Lakes, IL and graduted with high honors. She is now training for medical corps.
9. I have 2 cats: Jenkins age 5 and Pita age 2. I also have 2 grandcats: Kit Kat and Jewel both age 3 and a granddog-Brinks age 9.
10. I like to collect: I Love Lucy and Superman souveniers, and music and violin souveniers. I love my flower garden that my granddaughter Glenda and I take care of. I love all types of flowers especially roses.
11. I fly the American flag everyday in our yard and display a sign that states: "I'm Proud To Be An American" because I believe and have great faith in God whom our trust should always remain in regardless of what is going on in the world, our country or in our personal lives. God is our solid rock of faith that never wavers. |
