Bio     I have been blessed with a great partner and 3 healthy-life affirming kids.. "all" who loved learning... We have also hosted 4 teens from abroad during an American High School experience : one each from Japan, France, Germany and Poland. We remain close to these young people as their "American Parents!" Over the years my partner's steady support freed me to explore work in many fields from Homemaker to Parent Educator to ESL- GED-Teacher . I even spent a year at the County "Jail"! I have loved helping adult learn both "out and in jail" for over 20 years...Prior to Adult Education I also taught eleven years in Catholic Schools-Art and Music-K-8, in the Central City. Later I was also the "Principal" of two Early Childhood Programs..and from 1982-1993 the owner-operator of "Marti's Beautique" a beauty shop in a Sr. Citizens Complex in Raytown. For over twenty years I was also an active member of Junior Service League of Independence and as a community volunteer I was active in PTA as Legislative chairman and "Picture Lady" and in Raytown AAUW; I was the Co-founder of the annual Arts Festival which was first organized to honor women's history.. which now is an annual event for all! While I am not officially "retired," working part-time allows me to enjoy trying some old and new interests at a more involved level...things like traveling, sewing, writing, and communicating with people from around the world through the internet. I also still mentor Foreign Students who are coming through the Nacelle Org. Our first grandchild is "due" July 4th...I am already practicing "grandparent spoiling" ...Trying to spoil the mom-to-be first and by crocheting a baby blanket !
