Bio | After living in Independence, Missouri all my life, I moved to Lenexa, Kansas in 1979.
Involvement in the community is very important to me. I have served on many boards and councils over the years. When my children were in school, I served in many PTA positions and have been awarded two Kansas Lifetime PTA Memberships. I currently serve as the Chairman of the Lenexa Arts Council, elected to Lenexa's Volunteer Hall of Fame and awarded a Key to the City.
I am currently serving as the Northern Tier District Advancement Chairman in the Boy Scouts of America and belong to an honor camping program, The Tribe of Mic-O-Say, along with various other leadership positions.
Co-own, with my husband, Abacus Construction Company, I also operate, Tuckness Productions, a business specializing in creativity. I am a free-lance artist, involved in a variety of projects, most recently the public art projects of KC Cowparade and The March of the Teddy Bears. I have been the Technical Director in the Theatre Department of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School for the past 14 years. It is true, I have no fear, for I teach Teen-agers and love it!
In my spare time, I love to travel. My favorite places are in the Rocky Mountains and the Southwest. But I also love New York City and of course, Broadway and it's museums.
This year, June 8, I will be celebrating 40 years of marriage and we are planning a trip to celebrate. |
